Who is responsible

r4nkit (the r4nkit.com website and the r4nkit Android app) is run by Marc Fernandez, who is the data controller. Contact: markiff@gmail.com.

What we store

When you sign in with Patreon, we receive and store:

• your Patreon user ID;
• your Patreon username, or your first name if you have none, to create your display name. We never use your full name as a display name. You can change your display name at any time;
• the address of your Patreon profile picture;
• your email address, only if Patreon reports it as verified;
• the access and refresh tokens Patreon gives us, stored encrypted and used only to check your memberships;
• your memberships to creators who run a community on r4nkit: whether you're a paid, free, trial or former member, whether your last payment was declined, and your tier and its price. We don't store your memberships to any other creator.

When you use r4nkit, we also store your predictions, the reasoning you write, your language preference and your sign-in sessions (only a scrambled fingerprint of each session token).

Our web server logs and request traces record your IP address and the pages you request; they are deleted after 14 days. Our application logs don't contain IP addresses and are kept to investigate problems.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you sign up for: signing you in, checking that you can play in a creator's community, saving your predictions and showing leaderboards. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
• To keep r4nkit secure and working: preventing abuse, rate limiting and fixing errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Who can see your data

• Your display name, profile picture, predictions and reasoning are shown to the other eligible members of the same community once a round locks, and to that community's staff (the creator and their moderators) at any time.
• The creator may read your display name, picks and reasoning out loud on a public live stream or in videos. Don't write personal information in your reasoning.
• Patreon processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. Our servers are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.
• We don't sell your data, show ads or use analytics or tracking tools.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed for r4nkit to work or to remember your preferences, so we don't ask for consent:

• r4nkit_session: keeps you signed in (30 days);
• r4nkit_oauth_state: protects the Patreon sign-in (10 minutes);
• NEXT_LOCALE: your language (1 year);
• tz: your time zone, to show match times correctly (1 year).

In the Android app

The app signs you in with Patreon in a browser tab, which uses the r4nkit_oauth_state cookie above; the app itself doesn't use cookies. It keeps your session token, and your language if you choose one in the app, in your phone's encrypted storage; signing out or uninstalling the app removes them. The app has no ads, analytics or tracking tools, and it doesn't access your location, contacts, camera, photos or files.

How long we keep it and how to delete your account

We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time:

• in the r4nkit Android app: Account → Delete my account;
• on r4nkit.com: sign in, open the menu under your name and choose Delete my account;
• or by writing to markiff@gmail.com; we'll ask you to confirm the request comes from you.

Deleting your account immediately removes from r4nkit your account, display name, email address, Patreon tokens and memberships, predictions and reasoning, and signs you out on every device. Copies in our database backups and the web server logs that contain your IP address disappear within 14 days. Anything a creator has already read out on a live stream or in a video is part of their recording, which we don't control.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by writing to markiff@gmail.com. You can change your display name and delete your account yourself on the website or in the Android app. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Age

You need to be old enough to have a Patreon account to use r4nkit.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
